Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday claimed that the commission constituted by Prime Minister Imran Khan to probe misappropriation in foreign loans taken by ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif has proved that there was no embezzlement.

Talking to the media outside the Parliament House, senior PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir Khan along with former Punjab finance minister Ayesha Ghous Pasha said that there had been no embezzlement and now Prime Minister Imran Khan must apologize from the nation.

Dastgir said that this government has made life of Pakistanis miserable through inflation, misgovernance and unemployment.

He said the job of the opposition is to point flaws in economic policies of the government, but instead of correcting its mistakes, the prime minister never exhausts by talking about embezzlement in foreign loans taken by the previous PML-N government.

"Now the report of the committee constituted to trace embezzlement in the foreign loans by the PML-N government is out, which proves there has been no misappropriation and the prime minister must tender apology to the nation," he added.

He said the ruling PTI had obtained Rs 10,335 billion loans and there should also be an inquiry for such a huge borrowing.

He said the budget deficit of not a single institution has come down and the industrial output is shrinking with each passing day, leaving the government with no option but to request the IMF [International Monetary Fund] to reduce the tax target.

"The annual report of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has badly exposed the performance of the government, but the government is not ready to bring the facts before the nation," he added.
