ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio has said that incumbent government under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari took landmark decisions for the welfare of women and protection of their rights.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, the Minister said present government got many laws passed from the parliament during last four years to protect women rights. He said many new laws have been enacted to stop harassment and violence against women.
He said the PPP government also took care of women in social welfare schemes like Benazir Income Support Program etc and gave them major share in such schemes.
