  • Stability is now the foundation, Aurangzeb said

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said the government’s next priority is to accelerate economic growth, attract investment, expand exports and create jobs as Pakistan moves from macroeconomic stability towards sustained prosperity.

In his Independence Day message, the finance minister said macroeconomic stability had taken hold, reforms had moved from intent to implementation, while fiscal and external fundamentals were strengthening and economic and investor confidence was rising.

“Stability is now the foundation,” Aurangzeb said, adding that the country was embarking on a new chapter focused on accelerating growth, attracting investment, expanding exports, creating jobs and opening greater opportunities for the people.

He said empowering youth, women, entrepreneurs, farmers, workers, freelancers, innovators and businesses through skills and opportunities would remain at the heart of Pakistan’s economic transformation.

Aurangzeb said the government’s goal was to turn stability into growth, reforms into opportunity and economic progress into better lives for the people.

“There is much more to accomplish, but the direction is clear,” he said, stressing the need for continuity, collective effort and confidence in Pakistan’s potential to convert current progress into future prosperity.

The finance minister, while congratulating Pakistanis at home and abroad on the country’s 79th Independence Day, said the nation should honour the vision and sacrifices of its forefathers by renewing its commitment to building a stronger, more prosperous and inclusive Pakistan.

“Together, with continuity, collective effort and confidence in Pakistan’s potential, we can turn today’s progress into tomorrow’s prosperity,” he said.

He concluded his message with a call for national unity and expressed his wishes for Pakistan’s continued progress and prosperity.
