The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Friday approved a revision in dealers’ margins on Motor Spirit (MS) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD), the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.
Following the threat of a strike by the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, the ECC approving a Rs1.34 per litre increase in dealers’ margins on petroleum products, taking the total margin to Rs10 per litre, according to sources cited by Aaj News.
Petroleum dealers have postponed their strike planned for Saturday, the sources said.
The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division. The ECC considered a summary presented by the Petroleum Division and discussed the proposed revision in dealers’ margins on petroleum products.
Federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ali Pervaiz Malik and Ahad Khan Cheema, along with federal secretaries and senior officials from the relevant ministries and divisions, attended the meeting.
