Lawyers to observe black day on Friday

karachi-bar_400KARACHI: Lawyers on Friday (March 9) will observe black day all over the country to mark the March 9, 2007 ouster of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry by former President Pervez Musharraf.

This was announced by the Vice Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council Akhter Hussain here on Thursday.

Black flags will be hoisted on buildings of bar associations, while the legal fraternity will wear black arm bands on the day.

There will be no strike and the lawyers will proceed their cases as per routine, he added.
