ISLAMABAD: Renowned economist Dr Ashfaq Hassan said the government has to focus on institutional reforms in the country in order to increase skilled labour.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said the balance of trade between Pakistan and Kuwait is in favour of Kuwait as we import twenty per cent of our oil from Kuwait but our exports are negligible as Kuwait is a rich country and our commodities do not match its needs.
Dr Ashfaq said Kuwait is an important country for Pakistan as thousands of Pakistanis are working there and send remittances back home.
He said institutions are present in Pakistan for training and sending skilled labour to foreign countries like Kuwait, we only require focusing on the institutions like National Vocational Training Centre.
He said if the said institution is monitored by the President House it will work properly.
