Freedom of Press cannot be curbed: Altaf

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the registration of a case against noted anchor person Hamid Mir and termed it an attempt to curb the freedom of Press.

Altaf Hussain said that media had reported about the registration of a case against Hamid Mir in Quetta and issuance of warrants against him, said a statement issued by MQM on Sunday.

Altaf expressed solidarity with the journalists community and said that independence of the media and press could not be curbed by such actions.
