MUZAFFARGARH: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said on Sunday that establishing Seraiki province would help strengthen the country.
She was speaking at a ceremony where Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani distributed keys of newly constructed homes for flood hit women here at Benazir Shaheed Model Village.
She said that Seraiki province was the demand of local people.
She thanked Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for paying 4th visit at her constituency for the cause of poor flood hit people.
Hina Rabbani Khar said the federal government ensured record work in the flood hit areas of South Punjab which had mitigated sufferings of flood affected people. She said the magnitude of the flood devastation was very high and it was very difficult to rehabilitate the affected people and added that PPP leaders struggled hard and rehabilitated the poor people.
She lauded the Prime Minister for ensuring gas supply to the rural populace besides other development initiatives.
She also demanded that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani should issue instruction for bricklining the Muzaffargarh canal, Magassi canal, rehabilitation of flood embankments and roads damaged by the floods.
She also requested the Prime Minister for allocating quota in job for local people in different installation including PARCO, PSO and Thermal Power Station which were accepted by Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
