Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) has elected Abrar Ahmad, Pervez Tanveer Tufail and Zafar Qidwai as chairman, senior vice chairman and vice chairman, respectively, for the year 2019-20.
The election results were announced at the Association's 4th Annual General Meeting presided over by outgoing chairman of the association, Taimoor Dawood. Apart from office bearers, 10 members of the executive committee were also elected unopposed. These include;
Zafir Hussain, Arshaduddin Ahmed, Shahid Azeem, Pervez Tufail, Mansoor Haider, Khalid Majeed, Imran Ghafoor, Abrar Ahmed, Humaira Shazia (Women Seat) and Nabeela Intisar (Women Seat). Imran Qureshi, Abdul Qayum and Khalid Majeed performed as election commission.
The newly elected chairman presented a research based vision for development of the chemical industry in Pakistan and said that the economic development made by the developed countries like Germany, USA, China and Japan had focused attention on promotion of chemical sector. Pakistan also needs to develop this vital sector through a concrete strategy, he said.
