Emir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said his party will present a charge sheet against the foreign and internal policies of the government at a public gathering in Karachi on June 30 and will also present its future line of action.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that besides placing the country under IMF slavery and causing a flood of price hike and unemployment, the PTI government has stabbed the Kashmirs in the back. He said that for the first time, Pakistan has supported India at the UN level which proved that the government has surrendered to the world powers instead of sticking to its principled stance on the issue.
Meanwhile, JI chief Siraj Ulhaq on Wednesday didn't attend the meeting of the All Parties Conference (APC) hosted by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.
According to sources Siraj was present in Islamabad but didn't participate in the APC summoned by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. In 2018 general elections, JI was a part of a five religious parties' alliance Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) but recently the party has distance itself from the MMA, saying that alliance politics has damaged the JI support base and now the party will start independent struggle against economic challenges and other failure of government policies.
However, Sirajul Haq said that the APC had supported JI's charges against the government and added that the JI would support every move for the rights of the people.
The JI chief said that the government has become deaf, dumb and blind because of the state powers and is totally indifferent to the problems of the masses. He said the JI has stood by the masses since the presentation of the budget.
He further said that the government's ten month performance is a tale of failures and incompetence. He said that the powers which have brought the government and those who had supported it had expected a lot from the PTI but everybody now stands disappointed.
He said the government is bent upon sucking the blood of the people and the price hike caused due to the record rise in dollar has made the life of the poor a hell.
On the other hand, the JI on Wednesday while strongly reacting to government's move to support India as non- permanent member of the United National Security Council (UNSC) said that the Imran Khan government had taken a u-turn even on the country's settled foreign policy revolving around the Kashmir issue.
Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami, Amirul Azeem in a statement here said this was a big diplomatic failure of the country, betraying the Kashmir liberation movement and stabbing the Kashmiris in the back.
Amirul Azeem said that Pakistan's support for India has raised a wall of doubts and misgivings. He said it appeared that like the past rulers, the present government has forgotten the Kashmir issue and is keen to befriend India.
