Former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza on Saturday dissociated himself from statement of his wife Fehmida Mirza who delivered speech in the National Assembly (NA) over arrest of Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani.
While talking to journalists after hearing at anti-terrorism court in Karachi, the rebel leader of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) said that he was not associated with anything happening in the National Assembly. Mirza clarified that matters related to Fehmida and National Assembly should not be asked from him.
He condemned arrest of Speaker Sindh Assembly, saying that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) made wrong move by raiding Durrani's house. Mirza said that Durrani's daughters were like his own daughters while the speaker was himself a beautiful and good man.
Rulers should learn lesson as they abuse citizens when they managed to become part of regime, he said. "Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur knew well that I will get freed if proceedings go ahead, so the siblings stops proceedings of the case [by using influences]," Mirza alleged. The rebel leader said that he will go far beyond the limit as Zardari filed case against him while he himself faced many cases due to the former president.
