KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, general cargo, urea, chemical and furnace oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal Multi Purpose Terminal, FAP, EVTL and FOTCO Terminals respectively on Monday, Feb 20, a port statement said Tuesday.
Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to offload diesel oil and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 65 percent at the Port on Tuesday where total number of seven ships namely MSC Reunion, Florida II, HHL Nile, Arrilah-1, Norga Petaluma, M.V Ever Shining and Karachi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, urea, chemical, coal and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 53,785 tonnes imports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 733 containers (Boxes) was handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
M.V HHL Nile sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while M.V Norgas Petaluma has to sail later today.
