Pak Railways plans to launch 20 new trains in 2019

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday said 2019 will be an important year for Pakistan Railways and the department is planning to launch 20 new trains during the year to facilitate passengers.

In a statement issued here, the minister said Pakistan Railways would allocate separate boggy for women in the newly inaugurated train Rahman Baba Express from Peshawar to Karachi.

Sheikh Rashid said he had directed all the Divisional Superintendents to improve the cleanliness system in the trains and at the railway stations across the country.

The minister said the department is planning to launch two VIP trains with all required facilities, adding, “we are trying our best to restore Pakistan Railways in its original position.”

He said that train is the mode of travelling for common people and the initiatives would provide employment opportunities to masses.
