Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar on Saturday claimed to have collected Rs 2.041 billion customs duty as against the assigned target of Rs 737 million for the month of June 2018, depicting 180 percent growth.
According to details, the revenue collected in the June 2018 was 213 percent higher than Rs 640 million collected during last corresponding month. The collectorate has shown an exemplary performance by collecting total duty/taxes to the quantum of Rs 10.7 billion during the last quarter of the current financial year.
As regards the whole financial year 2017-18, the collectorate has succeeded in collecting more than Rs 26 billion. The revenue collection also includes duty/taxes realized through auction of Rs 3 million liters of diesel oil, vehicles and miscellaneous goods confiscated by anti smuggling arm of the collectorate during the current financial year.
Meanwhile, the collector Muhammad Yaqoob Mako appreciated the staff of collectorate for taking extraordinary efforts in surpassing the assigned targeting through a big margin. The collector also thanked law enforcing agencies especially FC, Balochistan South for assisting the customs staff in seizing over Rs 2 million foreign origin diesel oil during last quarter only.
