ABC certification

The Federal Government has extended the time of ABC certification from 01 year to three years and the renewal of registration of newspapers upto five years," stated a press release of the APNS.
Sarmad Ali, Secretary General, All Pakistan Newspapers Society has stated that at the APNS Award Ceremony held on May 30, at Islamabad, the then Minister for Information accepting the demands of APNS, had announced that time of ABC certification will be extended for 03 years, the renewal of registration will be valid for 05 years and a committee will be formed to ascertain the increase of advertising rates of newspapers in accordance with consumer price index.
The above decisions were announced on the 2nd last day of the tenure of this government hence, the required notification could not be issued.
The APNS vide its letter dated June 22, had requested the caretaker Minister for Information, Barrister Ali Zafar to instruct the Ministry for issuance of the notification of the decisions already announced by the Federal Government. The Secretary General, APNS thanked the Minister for Information for acceding to the APNS request and issued the notifications on June 26.-PR
