An appellate tribunal of the Balochistan High Court dismissed on Tuesday the pleas of the provincial chiefs of PTI and PPP challenging the returning officers' decision to reject their nomination papers. The returning officer had rejected the nomination papers of PTI leader Yaar Muhammad Rind after finding discrepancies in his education certificates. He was also found to be nominated in several criminal cases. He had filed nomination papers from PB 17 and NA-260.
The tribunal also decided to uphold the returning officer's decision to reject PPP Balochistan president Ali Madad Jattak's nomination papers. The RO had rejected Jattak's paper for having served five years in jail. He had filed nomination papers to contest the polls from PB-31.
The court also disqualified the PPP leader from contesting elections. Both leaders have decided to challenge the appellate tribunal's decision in the Balochistan High Court.
