A prosecution witness on Wednesday produced details of four cheques of former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, which he had issued in favor of Hajveri Foundation, before the Accountability Court hearing corruption cases against him.
The prosecution witness, Mohammad Azeem, presented these cheques while testifying before Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir in a corruption reference of assets beyond known sources of income filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Dar.
During the course of hearing, three co-accused including President National Bank (NBP) Saeed Ahmed and two directors of Dar's companies including Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi were present in the courtroom.
Defense counsel Qazi Misbah continued the cross-examination of witness Azeem.
To a question, Azeem said that Dar had issued four cheques of Rs 65,300,000 in favor of Hajveri Foundation at different times.
At the outset of hearing, accused Ahmed informed the court that his counsel was not available that day and counsel for other accused will cross-examine the witness.
On this, NAB Prosecutor Imran Shafique said that Ahmad should not think that there is no allegation against him. The court adjourned hearing of the case till May 24.
