Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Tuesday rejected the statement of National Security Committee (NSC) meeting which denounced his recent remarks about the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Talking to reporters inside the Accountability Court hearing corruption cases against him and his family members, Sharif said that he rejects the statement of NSC meeting presided over by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi held on May 14 and terms it painful and regretful. He said that the statement of NSC is incorrect as it is not based on facts.
He demanded formation of a national commission to identify traitors and patriots. Time has come to find out who laid the foundation of terrorism and who sowed the seeds of terrorism in the country, he added.
Sharif further said that it is the time to find out who is responsible for bringing the country to the current state of affairs. Pakistan is not becoming isolated, it is already isolated in the world, he said, while asking: "Tell me which country stands with us?" He went on to say, "I'm not an ordinary citizen as public had elected me prime minister. I know a number of things."
About the Dawn Leaks, the former prime minister said, "At that time during the National Security Committee meeting I had also stressed putting our own house in order, but the issues discussed during the meeting were given the name of the Dawn Leaks."
