Lashing out at the statement of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif over the Mumbai attacks, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan demanded registration of treason case against the former prime minister. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Khan also demanded that the former prime minister's name should be put on ECL, adding that Sharif had hurt the national interests of Pakistan.
The PTI chairman said if Sharif manages to get an NRO-like deal, his party will take to the streets to protest against the extra-constitutional act.
He further said as Sharif has violated his oath as the prime minister so he should be proceeded against as per Article 6 of the Constitution.
Khan further demanded that investigation should be carried out regarding businesses of Sharif's sons in India. The fourth demand of the PTI chairman was that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif should step down.
He said that Pakistan is already in the grey list of FATF. The PTI chairman said that Sharif's statement helped India considerably build a case against Pakistan.
Khan asked why Sharif had not said anything like this when he was prime minister of the country. Sharif has been staging drama for another national reconciliation ordinance (NRO), but it will not work now.
"The only organised institution left in the country is Army," Khan said and added that conspiracies are being hatched to weaken this institution.
The PTI chairman went on to say that whole Indian campaign is against Pakistan Army but entire nation is standing with the country's armed forces.
"Is PML-N a political party? A party is formed on an ideological basis. Parties remove leaders when they prove to be a burden for them," Imran said giving examples of some other countries where leaders were removed as party heads.
The PTI chief went on to ask whether the prime minister will do anything regarding the issue.
"I know you people won't because you are not a political party but a syndicate of corruption," he alleged.
