Leader of Opposition in National Assembly, Syed Khurshid Shah on Wednesday said performance of the Sindh government is far better than PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and asked the PTI chief to instead of agitation concentrate on good governance and development. Addressing at a public meeting at Chakdara, Lower Dir, he strongly reprimanded performance of the PTI government during last five years in KP and termed it a cosmetic change visible only on social media.
He welcomed sitting MPA of Qaumi Watan Party, Bakht Baider Khan for re-joining PPP. Khurshid Shah said PTI leadership has made tall slogans of bringing change in KP but the situation on the ground was totally different as no change has been visible in KP. He said people of KP can't be mislead on hallow slogans of change and they are now looking towards PPP for solution of their problems.
He said Peshawar has been converted into ditches and trenches due to ill planning for Metro bus project, adding where PTI was four years ago as for as metro bus project was concerned," he remarked. "Anyone wanted to see real improvement in health and education sectors, he must visit Sindh province where both these sectors registered tremendous upward growth in last ten years," he said.
He said hospitals were constructed in all districts in Sindh province and health delivery system was significantly improved and people are getting quality services at their doorsteps, adding all the major hospitals in Sindh were equipped with latest facilities like MRI, CT Scan etc. The PPP leader reiterated that strong federating units were pre-requisite for stable and prosperous federation. "No country can progress sans strong provinces," he elaborated.
Khurshid Shah said PPP has empowered provinces imperative for strong federation and gave identity to Pakthoons through historic 18th constitutional amendment. He said PPP have always supported democracy and parliamentary politics as our leadership including ZA Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had laid down their lives for rights of people and democracy.
Shah said Bhuttoism was name of ideology and PPP would remove sense of deprivation of people of KP after getting victorious in the upcoming general election. He said PPP had restored government writ and peace in militancy affected Malakand Division and resettled all TDPs in record two months time in Swat. While criticizing the budget 2018-19, he claimed that no significant relief was given to poorer and labourer class.
He said the government has not right to present the year-long budget for the financial year 2018-19 at a time when its tenure is ending on May 31 and it would have been better if it was left on the next government. He said CPEC was a national project and special focus should have been made on all provinces besides development of its passing routes imperative for progress and prosperity. On this occasion, QWP sitting MPA Bakht Baider Khan had announced joining of PPP along with supporters and relatives.
