The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an Inspector of the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Lahore on charges of sexual harassment, blackmailing and extortion of money. Acting on a complainant filed by a victim lady Marwa Rasheed, FIA Lahore Deputy Director Cybercrime Circle Khalid Anis constituted a team and conducted a targeted raid at a local hotel and arrested the accused Inspector identified as Nadeem Akhtar Khan.
A spokesman for the agency said the victim's data has been recovered from the mobile phone of accused and a case has also been registered against him under section of the Prevention of Electronic Crime Act, 2016, (PECA). He said the accused is a working inspector at RTO Lahore.
In a separate operation, the FIA's Cybercrime Circle arrested another person for sexually abusing and blackmailing a lady through social media. According to an official, the accused person Mansoor Akram, resident of Sabzazar, was taken into custody in a targeted raid near Chauburji. He said an obnoxious material from the cell phone of the accused has been recovered.
"The accused had made pornographic video and nude pictures of the complainant lady deceitfully, the official claimed, adding Mansoor was using popular social media messaging app WhatsApp to the execution of his alleged crime. A First Information Report (FIR) (Number 95/18) under Section 20, 21, 24 of PECA has been registered against the suspect while further investigation is under way, he added.
