Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to accelerate the tempo of the party's mass contact campaign so as to spread the party's message in every nook and corner of the country. The decision to this effect was taken at a party's consultative meeting held at Raiwind residence of PML-N's supreme leader on Sunday. Mian Nawaz Sharif chaired the meeting which was attended by the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Pervez Rasheed, Maryam Nawaz and others, sources said.
The meeting discussed in detail the country's overall political situation, NAB cases and party affairs, the sources claimed. According to the sources, it was decided in the meeting to address the reservations of estranged party leaders. In this regard, a committee comprising the PML-N leaders will meet such leaders. In the meeting, the sources claimed that matters concerning the forthcoming general elections and party's strategy were discussed.
In this regard, different proposals came under discussion. The sources said Nawaz asked the party leaders to start preparations for the upcoming general elections. He also said that there is no substance in the cases against him, adding that the witnesses' statements have made his case stronger.
