26 terrorists killed in strikes on hideouts along Pak-Afghan border: Tarar

  • Says four targets completely destroyed including a training centre
Published Updated

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday said at least 26 Indian-sponsored terrorists have been killed in precise and calibrated strikes carried out on hideouts and safe havens of masterminds and planners belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij along Pakistan-Afghanistan border areas.

In a post on his X handle, he said these strikes were carried out in the aftermath of recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan, including terrorist attack on Federal Constabulary Post in Musa Dara on June 9, vehicle-borne suicide attacks on a military post in North Waziristan on June 2 and Police Station in Bannu on May 9.

Tarar said based on credible intelligence, selective targeting of camps and hideouts was carried out with precision and accuracy.

The information minister mentioned that four targets were completely destroyed including a training centre, a hide out and an ammunition cache and Marakiz belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij Commander Aleem Khan Khushali and Commander Akhtar Muhammad Jani Khel.

“Pakistan has always strived for maintaining peace and stability in the region, but at the same time the safety and security of our citizens remains our top priority,” he said.

Tarar said relentless Counter Terrorism campaign by security forces and law enforcement agencies  under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam”, as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
