Syed Shah Muhammad Shah and Senator Saleem Zia were elected unopposed as president and general secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Sindh chapter, here on Sunday. The elections were held at PML-N's Sindh council moot by an election committee headed by Rana Mashood, the party leader and Punjab Education Minister. Other contestants announced withdrawal of their nomination papers due to which Shah Muhammad Shah and Saleem Zia were announced as unopposed winners of the election. Rana Mashood congratulated them and hoped that under their leadership, the party would be activated in Sindh leading to success of the candidates in general elections 2018.
Meanwhile, talking to media persons at Hyderabad Press Club, Rana Mashood said people would exercise their right of franchise in the general elections on the basis of performance. He claimed PML-N is the only party which fulfilled the commitments made with the people in the general elections 2013 while the governments of PPP and PTI have failed to deliver people of Sindh and KP provinces, respectively.
In the general elections 2018, he asserted, the candidates of PML-N would gain success with thumping majority from all over the country. He said in Sindh people have now realized they got nothing during the tenure of a political party for last 25 years and now they were looking towards PML-N to address their issues.
