Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has rejected the federal budget for 2018-19 on the ground that budget document contradict the government's claims and the people of KP had been ignored which would further aggravate their sense of deprivation.
Aftab Sherpao while addressing at a public gathering at Swabi, wherein scores of people announced their joining in QWP said Pakhtoons had rendered enormous sacrifices for the development of country but unfortunately their rights had always been vilifying by the federal government which is not acceptable at any cost.
QWP chief described the budget estimates as eyewash and the government has failed to provide any relief to the masses. He said that the government should have announced major initiatives to control energy crises, saying that hike in the petroleum and other commodities is bomb thrown on the masses.
He termed the budget destruction of economy and it would not improve economy of the country. He said the smaller provinces particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were ignored in the fiscal plan presented by the federal government that the province would remain in the grip of crises. He said that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas have been overlooked as no allocation made to compensate the militancy-affected people in.
Aftab Sherpao regretted that the longstanding issues of Pakhtoons had been put on back burner that intensified their sense of deprivation. He said that issues such as load-shedding, merger of FATA-KP, CEPEC, rehabilitation etc had been ignored which aggravated their conditions.
Sherpao criticized the PTI-led government for its step-motherly attitude towards its own people and said it was unfortunate that the previous three governments MMA, ANP and PTI had been failed to fulfil the promises it had made with people before elections and their responsible for the destruction the province.
