Technology Up-gradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) in collaboration with the Punjab Energy Efficiency & Conservation Agency (PEECA) has conducted one-day workshop on "Energy Efficiency, and conservation measures for Industrial Sector.
The workshop was aimed at highlighting the benefits of energy efficiency and conservation measures for the industrial sectors in Punjab. The workshop was part of the Tusdec's efforts for up-gradation and transfer technology in targeted industrial sectors to enhance their productivity and competitiveness in the local as well as global sphere.
Speakers while speaking at the workshop urged the government to reduce duty on import of energy conservation equipment and parts to encourage use of energy-saving solutions and development of the local industry. They stressed the need for reducing the cost of production by saving energy to compete our neighbouring countries in world market.
It was further stressed that technology up-gradation based on smart and efficient energy resources in developing countries can take them to the next level of development.
