An earthquake hit the city of Lahore on Saturday morning, said witnesses. There was a general panic among the public with jolts of earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale. According to the preliminary report, the quake centre was at a depth of 16-km below the surface, and it was recorded at 11:10am.
There were no reports of any casualties or damage to properties, officials said. Those who experienced the jolts said it continued for three seconds. Most of them left their residences and offices while reciting holy words.
