The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has taken custody of the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), Rasul Khan Mahsud in a case involving misuse of authority by criminal breach of trust and causing a loss worth Rs 13270 million to national exchequer.
According to the details, accused Rasul Khan Mahsud remained Managing Director (MD) PEPCO between 2010-12; whereas, the accused by misusing his conferred authority attempted to hamper the investigation officers by misguiding through providing excel sheets of estimates prepared for manufacturing and procurement of hundreds of transformers. Moreover, the accused approved tenders over exaggerated rates and this criminal act on the part of Rasul Khan Mahsud caused a loss worth Rs 13270 million to national exchequer.
The NAB Lahore after completion of investigation against the accused filed corruption reference in an accountability court in December 2015. Keeping in view, Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal has issued his arrest warrants. After arresting Rasul Khan Mahsud NAB Lahore has acquired physical remand of the accused till 3rd April 2018.
Moreover, Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore, Shahzad Saleem held third "open hearing" in NAB Complex. The affectees reached NAB Lahore to register their complaints among them major number of applications were against different housing societies scams including Eden Housing Society, Khayaban-e-Ameen and some complaints filed against Elite Town scam etc.
DG NAB Lahore listened to all the complainants and ensured them of taking strict action against such housing societies' administration. He also ensured them of making no compromise with the culprits involved. Taking cognizance against Eden housing administration, DG NAB Lahore ordered initiating criminal proceedings.
