Sizzling temperature on Friday battered district Shaheed Benazirabad with 45.5 degrees Celsius, as hot waves continued to swirl across Sindh province, according to the Met Office. Turbat, Rohri and Jacobabad witnessed the mercury shooting to 45 degrees Celsius, each, followed by Chhor and Moen-Jo-Daro 44.5 degrees Celsius, each, Dadu 44.4 degrees Celsius and Mithi, Lasbella, Larkana and Sukkur 44 degrees Celsius, each, during the day. Temperature simmered down a bit in Hyderabad to 43.5 degrees Celsius followed by Badin 42 degrees Celsius and Karachi 39 degrees Celsius. Dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Met forecast, saying that "continental air is prevailing over most parts".
The simmering temperature in Umerkot and Shaheed Benazirabad is expected to range up to 45 degrees Celsius on Saturday and in Tharparkar, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Qambar Shahdadkot 44 degrees Celsius, each. Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Noshahro Feroze, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro, Mityari, and Badin are likely to sizzle at 43 degrees Celsius, while Dadu, Sujawal and Thatta at 42 degrees Celsius and Karachi at 40 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours.
