Minister asks CCPO Karachi to step up security

KARACHI: Sindh, Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has directed the CCPO, Karachi, to take effective security measures against alleged cases of target killings.

According to a statement of the Home Department issued here on Friday, the Minister said that the SHOs and SP Towns should be made responsible for any lawlessness in their respective jurisdictions.

He further directed the CCPO to ensure snap checking and setting of pickets in collaboration with Rangers in all sensitive areas of the city.

Moreover, he said action should be taken against criminals without any discrimination.

"Aerial firing and exhibition of arms should be strictly checked and prohibited," he said and sought enhanced security around all the mosques and Imam bargahs.
