Political Agent (PA) Khyber Agency administered drops to a child to formally announce the commencement of the five days anti-polio campaign in Khyber Agency on Thursday. In this connection a simple gathering was organized in Khyber House, Peshawar that was attended by PA, Khalid Mehmood beside agency surgeon Dr Ayub and other officials. The top political official administered the polio drops to a child to kick start the anti-polio campaign in Khyber Agency.
Sharing details, agency surgeon Dr Ayub said that the drive would start Monday, January 15 and it would simultaneously be initiated in all three Tehsils of Khyber Agency. A target of 218000 children had been set to be vaccinated in the campaign and for this purpose 799 teams had been formed to visit door to door to achieve the target, he maintained.
On a query Dr Ayub replied that there would be no area of Khyber Agency exempted from the campaign and the drive would be carried out in remote areas with help and assistance of the security forces.
