A delegation comprising representatives of Chinese company Wang Tat called on Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar in his office on Thursday to discuss the possibilities of mutual cooperation and work on projects of Karachi. The company which has vast experience and specialty in working on the projects of infrastructure development and construction, transportation, environment, smart city and heritage protection also provide project financing facilities.
Coordinator Shahid Feroze accompanied the members of the delegation in this meeting whereas Municipal Commissioner KMC Dr Asghar Abbas, D.G Parks, director municipal services, director vehicle and director technical S M Shakaib were also present on this occasion.
The delegation members gave a detailed briefing on their projects and also provided a comparison of Karachi with a Chinese city which they said had similar problems 30 years ago and now became a well developed city. The Mayor Karachi said to the delegation members that their company may conduct survey of the fields where they are interested to work and after which initial planning will be made for further work.
He said such projects will be preferred which may complete in less time but more beneficial for the people of Karachi. He said the Chinese company will be provided with all possible cooperation in its task in Karachi.
