Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Punjab Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir resigned from his post on Friday. According to the sources, the acting vice chancellor of PU resigned due to immense pressure by the government to provide two canal land of the university for the Orange Line Project. Recently, the university teachers have reacted strongly over the proposal.
The sources claimed that the Punjab Higher Education Department has sent the resignation to Governor Punjab Malik Rafiq Rajwana for approval. It was also claimed by the sources that there were charges of corruption against vice chancellor. Provincial Higher Education Minister Syed Ali Raza Gilani had also requested the chief minister inspection team to investigate the charges of corruption. The VC was unable to complete one year term.
