National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has asked Ministry of Foreign Affairs to speed up the process of repossession of documents regarding the Avenfield properties case filed against the Sharif family, through diplomatic sources. Sources said that NAB Chairman former Justice Javed Iqbal Friday held a meeting with Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua here at the Bureau headquarters. The NAB chairman asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to expedite the process of retrieval of documents regarding the Avenfield properties case during the meeting, the sources said.
He further asked the foreign secretary to hand over these documents to the NAB after completing all legal formalities, they added. The NAB chairman said the negligence in verification of documents in connection with the Avenfield apartments case against the Sharif family will not be tolerated.
During the meeting, Janjua also briefed the NAB chairman about the process of collection of evidence, they added. The official said the NAB had earlier sought all verified documents regarding the London flats to file an interim reference against the Sharif family. According to statement issued by the NAB, Tehmina Janjua met with the NAB chairman and discussed issues of mutual interest.
