PM directs Discos to upgrade networks

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbassi has directed the power distribution companies to upgrade their distribution networks. Chairing a meeting on energy in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said this is vital to translate increase in production capacity into uninterrupted power supply.
The PM also directed for greater coordination amongst the officials of relevant departments so as to overcome issues related to power distribution. On the occasion, the Prime Minister was briefed about current power demand and supply situation in the country. It was informed that sufficient power generation capacity is available in the system to meet current and projected demand for the coming months.
