KARACHI: The Provincial Election Commissioner, Sindh has announced the schedule for senate election.
A notification issued here Saturday said that the election would be held on seven general seats, two women seats and two technocrats seats including ulema on March 2 at Sindh Assembly building as per schedule given below:
Filing of nomination papers by the candidates with the Returning Officer from February 13 to 14 (0900- 1600 hours), scrutiny of nomination papers February 16 to 17 (1000 to 1600 hours), filing of appeals against rejection of nominations with the Secretary Election Commission from February 20 to 21 (0900- 1600 hours), disposal of appeals by the Election Commission on February 22 to 23, last date for withdrawal of candidature February 24 (0900- 1600 hours), publication of list of contesting candidates February 24. Polling will be held March 02 (0900-1600 hours) Provincial Assembly Building, Karachi on March 2, 2012.
Nomination papers shall be received at the office of Provincial Election Commissioner (Sindh)/ Returning Officer situated at Block 44- A, Pakistan Secretariat, Shahrah-e-Iraq, Saddar, Karachi on February 13 -14 between 0900- 1600 hours.
