ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday assured the journalists community the resolution of their problems on priority basis in connection with the coverage of National Assembly and Senate.
The minister also assured journalists for stern action against the National Assembly drivers who misbehaved with two journalists.
Meanwhile the Journalists walked out from the proceedings of National Assembly and Senate as a protest against misbehaviour of assembly drivers with two journalists.
She said a committee would be constituted to investigate the issue. Preliminary show cause notice will be issued to the drivers, she assured. Dr. Firdous said the government would facilitate journalists to perform their duties in enabling environment.
The Minister said the government believed on freedom of media and provided conducive environment in this regard.
Speaking on a point of order she asked the deputy speaker to hold an impartial inquiry to fix the responsibility.
The Deputy speaker directed secretary NA to hold inquiry and take action and suggest measures to avoid recurrence of such incident.
