ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said that supreme national interests demand sagacity as well as continuance of engagements through dialogue among all the political forces to provide solid base for strengthening democratic institutions.

He maintained that the government has always welcomed suggestions from all quarters to address the national issues.

To overcome the challenges confronting the country, political reconciliation and continuance of the policy is the main concern of the government, Gilani added.

The Prime Minister expressed these views in his meeting with Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here at the PM House on Thursday evening.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Senator Ishaq Dar.

Later prior to conclusion, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh also joined the meeting. During the meeting, which was held in a very cordial atmosphere, progress on the ongoing dialogue on ten-point agenda was reviewed.

The Prime Minister was apprised by the Chief Minister that details of discussion held in the Prime Minister House this (Thursday) evening will be discussed in the Executive Council of the PML (N) meeting on Friday.
