LONDON: European stock markets rose in initial trade on Wednesday amid growing hopes that Greece will reach a bailout deal with creditors on its massive debt, and avoid a potentially disastrous default.
London's FTSE 100 index advanced 0.38 percent to 5,912.59 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.69 percent to 6,800.72 points and the Paris CAC 40 climbed 0.41 percent to 3,425.41.
