Low voltage supplies have panicked the consumers by and large in the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) region, as durability of electric appliances stood at risk with every dip in supply for over the last one week. Talking to Business Recorder, the consumers burst out their anger against the LESCO staff, who is not attending their calls on the numbers inscribed on the back of electricity bills.
They said low voltage supplies have put their lives at halt because of the persistent inability to charge cell phones, refrigerate perishable items, speed up ceiling fans and utilise full potential of energy savers besides bearing irreparable faults to the Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) gadgets.
Furthermore, those encountering with protracted illness, tedious health conditions and skin diseases remained victim of double jeopardy out of low voltage supplies. Meanwhile, toddlers kept receiving tweaks of sizzling heat throughout night and rubbing salt into the wounds of their parents. When contacted the LESCO office, sources said the transmission lines were unable to take pressure of high voltage therefore the phenomenon of low voltage was wandering around the city.
