The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has demanded of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) to shift back the industrial connections from RLNG to the Sui gas. LCCI President Abdul Basit in a statement on Tuesday said the LCCI members complained that their industrial gas connections were shifted to the RLNG for a specific time due to gas shortage with the assurance that they would be shifted back to the Sui Gas after March 15, 2017.
Unfortunately, even after lapse of the promised period, the industrial connections have not yet been restored to the Sui gas. Pakistani merchandise are already facing tough challenge in the international market because of high input cost and they are in a dire need of helping hand from the departments like SNGPL. He said the RLNG is costly as compared to natural gas and industries cannot afford to continue with costly fuel. He urged the SNGPL authorities to shift the industrial gas connections from RLNG to the Sui gas.He also urged the authorities to immediately discontinue issuance of advance adhoc billing.
