Taimur Naseer maintained his lead of six under 138 over 36-holes in the 50th National Amateur Ranking Golf Championship being played over 54-holes here at PAF Golf Course on Saturday. With this stunning performance Taimur Naseer was also selected to represent Pakistan in international tournament in Iran and New Zealand.
Taimur Naseer added a superb four under par 68 to his overnight two under 70 to make an aggregated total of six under par 138 over 36 holes. He carded one under 35 at front nine and three under par 33 with birdies at holes no. 2, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 15 and a single bogies at hole no. 3, 6 and 11.
"Today I played really well as my putting was good enough and I scored almost six birdies wherein missing a single stroke at hole no. 3, 6 and 11," Taimur told APP in a post-match talks. "I will try my best to play the last round by maintaining my lead of six strokes so that to confirm my selection in the Pakistan team for international outings," Taimur Naseer added.
Zohaib Asif of Karachi added two over par 74 to his overnight 72, par, to make an aggregated total of gross two over par 146, sharing the second place with another promising golfer Saqib Tufail of Karachi. Zohaib added 37 each at front and back nine with five birdies and three bogies. Saqib Tufail of Karachi also carded 74 to his overnight score 72 by making a total of 146. He carded 37 each at front and back nine holes with two single bogies.
National team member Robin Bagh added five over par 77 to his overnight one under 71 with 41 and 36 at front and back nine respectively, hitting five birdies and one bogy. Robin Bagh played five over par at front nine and par 36 at back nine with five birdies. Sajid Khan of Karachi Gymkhana added 75, three over par, to his overnight score 77 with 38 at front nine and 37 at back nine with just one birdie at hole no 8 and a double bogy at hole no. 1 par five and single bogies at hole no. 3 and 16. He made a total of 150 gross over 36 holes, followed by Inayat Ullah with gross 152, Muhammad Rehmat 153 (76+77) and Kabir Khan 154 (74+80). The final and prize distribution ceremony will be held on Sunday at 5.00 pm.
