The city police registered seven cases of theft and robbery, five cases of car lifting, two cases of kidnapping and one case of murder during the last week, which negates tall claims of the Islamabad Police regarding curb in crime rate. According to the crime statistics collected by Business Recorder here on Saturday, the criminal elements had a field day in the limits of Golra, Sabzi Mandi and Shalimar police stations during the last week.
Golra police station registered one case each of murder and robbery. One Ferzana lodged a complaint with Golra police station that her husband Muhammad Ijaz had suffocated her daughter to death. Another victim Nadeem Ahmad lodged a complaint with the same police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, a laptop and a camera from his house. Sabzi Mandi police station registered two cases each of auto theft and dishonoured cheques during the aforementioned period. Auto-thieves stole a car (LXK-580) of Muhammad Azam and another (LXL-9488) of Shujat Ali from the limits of the same police station.
One Syed Muhammad Abbas lodged a complaint with Shalimar police station that unknown robbers snatched a purse from his wife containing cash and an ATM card when she was busy in shopping. Another Nauman Pervez lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that two mobile phones and cash were stolen from a room of his cafeteria and he suspected that Amir and Umer might be involved in the incident. One Tasleem Bari lodged a complaint with Women Police Station that unknown women stole three ATM cards from her purse when she was busy shopping at sector F-7, Islamabad.
During the week under review, Saif Ali informed Noon police station that unknown people raped his daughter and also stole her mobile phone. One Imtiaz Hussain lodged a complaint with Bani Gala police station that the accused Zahid and Shahid had kidnapped his daughter. Another Muhammad Ilyas lodged a complaint with Ramna police station that unknown armed robbers, riding a bike, snatched purse from his daughter containing cash, mobile phone and ATC card. During the last week, Aabpara and Industrial Area police stations registered one case each of auto theft.
