Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on Saturday rejected all allegations of corruption and misuse of authority, saying he had all the records of his properties and assets. Speaking at a press conference here, the speaker said that he neither owns a 35 kanal house in Bani Gala nor he lives in a house worth Rs 350 million. He said that he has a three kanal house and 1.5 kanal dera in his village, which was built in 2009. "I paid 1.1 million rupees in tax last year," he added.
"It is just a media trial and propaganda against me. This is why I am putting my money trail in front of the whole nation," he added. He also vowed to track down the person who started this campaign against him "without any solid proof." Qaiser said that out of 57 jobs, 38 of them were of class-four, while the remaining vacancies were filled through a competitive process based on the test of national testing service (NTS).
Meanwhile, KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak also supported the speaker, terming the campaign against him (speaker) `a conspiracy of rivals'. "Asad Qaiser has presented everything before the media so that everyone can verify that he has not done anything wrong," the CM said. Khattak said that he has contacted director general of National Accountability Bureau, asking him to probe the allegations levelled against Qaiser. "Is there any legal procedure against a person who levels false allegations?" he asked. The speaker told the media that NAB has not contacted him over these allegations.
