The official launch of ABILITIES EXPO 2017 is a big leap for the Department as never had such an event been organized at the national level or provincial level. My gratitude goes to Honorable Chief Minister Sindh, Mr. Murad Ali Shah who not only supported the idea of holding ABILITIES EXPO 2017 but also made it viable through keen interest.
Although such Expos are part of the developed world but holding it in this part of the developing world especially in Pakistan where such events are unheard of, I must give credit to the present Government for its all-out support.
Our co-partner in organizing the event is the Karachi Vocational Training Centre, where Mr. Farhan and his team has performed brilliantly for the last few months in organizing the event. My team in the Special Education Department especially the Additional Secretary, Mr. Abdul Waheed Shaikh and all officers of field offices have been my support in holding the event. I also feel grateful to all the partners and participants who have put in their blood and toil for ABILITIES EXPO 2017.
The Department intends to organize such events for the betterment of special people and their families with a view to highlight the achievements and aspirations of special people in the future as well. We believe that emphasis on institutional care of the needy and helpless people makes the Government-People bond more fortified as a corner stone of the society.
