Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has felicitated the Peoples Labour Union (PLU) over its victory in referendum for Port Qasim Authority (PQA) Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA). A Bilawal House Media Cell statement here on Friday said that the referendum was held yesterday. It said that the Peoples Labour Union obtained 669 votes defeating it's rival, which was supported by many political parties, by a margin of 125 votes in the referendum.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari maintained that PPP is the only political party in Pakistan, which gave labour policies and struggled for the rights of workers, introduced trade union rights in the country and made them partners in national industrial and commercial units through Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme. PPP Chairman assured the labour class that its interests would always be protected on high priority. He congratulated the new office-bearers of PQA CBA and exhorted them to contribute their efforts for strengthening the Party in continuing its struggle for all the downtrodden masses of the country.
