The various groups of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Landi Kotal chapter on Sunday unanimously nominated Abdul Hakeem as its head for the area and agreed to shun all discrepancies among themselves in better interests of masses.
In this regard, an announcement was made during a news conference at Landi Kotal Press Club, in which Abdul Hakeem Afridi was jointly nominated as head of PTI Landi Kotal chapter by all splinter groups. Abdul Hakeem Afridi, Eng Noor Alam Afridi, Lutfullah Shinwari, Zarbullah, Jafar Shinwari and other members of PTI were also in attendance on the occasion.
Abdul Hakeem Afridi while speaking at the occasion said that his party will actively participate in forthcoming local government polls in tribal region and would also help in resolving people's problems in the area. He stated that various committees would be formed to resolve issues in education, health and other sectors and would raise their voice for rights of the tribesmen.
He asked federal government to conduct national census in the country forthwith and tribal areas should not be underestimated in it. The national census should also take place in tribal regions like other parts of the country, he urged. His party will take all steps in better interests of masses and it would offer a ray of hope to people, he claimed.
Engineer Noor Alam Afridi, a local leader of PTI in his address said the inside groups in PTI Landi Kotal chapter agreed to nominate a head for tehsil who could effectively run the party's programs and affairs in the area. He claimed the newly nominated head was authorised to select other office bearers on his own will and that he would form separate committees in this regard for education, health and others so that they could carry out activities in their assigned fields.
He informed that selection of candidates for next general polls would be made by central party leadership and there is a separate procedure for it.
