Traders on Monday dubbed the just passed year 'extremely disappointing' for the businesses, saying that the sales had been low from civic chaos because of the poor governance across Sindh. However, they showed satisfactions over the law and order in the country, especially in Karachi. The PPP-led government failed to regulate the province affairs as its departments were unable to resolve the public problems, they said.
"With a sheer negligence of the government and its departments triggered civic chaos that struck businesses badly in the metropolis," Chairman All Karachi Tajir Ittehad said in a statement, adding that the governance was missing to show up to improve the quality of public daily life.
He also praised former army chief, Raheel Sharif for resurrecting patriotism among the citizens during his tenure. However, overall business turnout during the last year had been down by 40 percent, he added that "the traders faced Rs300 billion losses from chaotic governance".
The markets wore a dirty look with over flowing gutters, muddy and broken roads and streets, encroachments, mound of garbage during the last year, which kept the costumers away from shopping, he said, adding that no attempts to end urban civic problems had been made.
Despite change of the CM Sindh, he said that there was still no hope in sight for the development of the province.
