Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that a number of power projects will start production in 2017 as a result of which load-shedding will be eliminated. Talking to parliamentarians belonging to different districts in Lahore, Shahbaz said that efforts of the government for resolving energy crisis are proving fruitful and work is being carried out expeditiously on energy projects in the country including Punjab.
Under CPEC investment of 36 billion dollars is being made in energy projects whereas under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, PML-N government is setting up power houses with its own resources, he added. He stressed upon assembly members to maintain a close contact with the people and resolve their problems on priority basis.
Those who met the Chief Minister included Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, Sheikh Muhammad Akram, Sardar Ahmed Qadeer Khan and former MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram. Moreover, Shahbaz Sharif has directed Provincial Cabinet Committee on Law and Order to leave no stone unturned for protection of life and property of people. In a directive to the committee, Shahbaz said police should play an active role in maintaining law and order and enforcement of law. He also said that action should be taken against those who resort to aerial firing. He directed for indiscriminate action against the criminals and to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the eve of New Year.
