Indus River System Authority (IRSA) is to close down all canals from Monday for desilting purpose. Under the annual canal closure plan, canals will remain closed for desilting till 31st of next month. According to an official of IRSA, the authority will release ten to twelve thousand cusecs of water from Tarbela dam and eight thousand cusecs from Mangla dam to meet the drinking water requirements.
